College Admissions

We guide students in building a balanced and strategic college list, understanding admissions selectivity, and identifying institutions that are the right fit academically, socially, and financially. We help students track admissions requirements, navigate application timelines, and understand application options such as Early Decision, Early Action, Restrictive Early Action, and Regular Decision. Throughout the process, we provide comprehensive application management to ensure students stay organized, meet deadlines, and submit strong, complete applications.

Counselor With Clients

We guide students through every stage of the essay-writing process, from brainstorming and topic selection to structuring, drafting, and editing. Our approach focuses on helping students develop a compelling and cohesive personal narrative that reflects their intellectual interests, core values, motivations, identity, long-term aspirations, and the themes that connect their academic pursuits and extracurricular experiences. The result is a collection of authentic, impactful essays that effectively communicate who they are and what they will contribute to a college community. **Please note, consultants do not write any part of the student's essay.

Extracurricular Strategy & Impact Development

We help students build a thoughtful and distinctive extracurricular profile by identifying areas of depth and specialization, prioritizing high-impact activities, developing leadership skills, and creating opportunities for meaningful engagement. We work with students to pursue initiatives that align with their interests and long-term goals, enabling them to demonstrate commitment, initiative, and impact beyond the classroom. Examples include launching nonprofits or community initiatives, securing research mentorships, participating in academic competitions, pursuing internships, developing arts portfolios, creating entrepreneurial ventures, and leading advocacy or community service projects.

Academic Positioning & Course Planning

We help students build a rigorous and well-balanced academic profile that supports their interests, strengths, and future goals. This includes guidance on AP, IB, honors, and elective course selection, calibrating academic rigor, managing GPA, and thoughtfully sequencing coursework throughout high school. We also help students align their academic choices with their intended areas of study, ensuring that their transcript reflects both preparation and genuine intellectual engagement. For example, a student interested in engineering may be encouraged to pursue advanced mathematics, physics, and technical coursework, while a student interested in the humanities may focus on writing-intensive, literature, history, or language-based courses that demonstrate analytical and communication skills.

Summer Planning and Strategic Opportunities

Summer experiences play an increasingly important role in a student’s development and college application profile from 9th through 11th grade. We help students identify and pursue meaningful opportunities that align with their interests, strengths, and long-term goals. Together, we develop a strategic summer plan that balances exploration, skill-building, and impact through academic programs, selective summer institutes, internships, pre-college courses, research experiences, employment, volunteer work, and independent projects.

Focused Teamwork
Career & Major Exploration

We help students discover and refine their academic and career interests, ensuring that their course selection, extracurricular activities, and future goals align with a meaningful direction. Through assessments, guided exploration, internships, informational interviews, and exposure to a variety of fields, students gain insight into their strengths and interests while developing a clearer vision for their intended major and long-term aspirations.

We offer a complimentary 30-minute consultation to assess your student's goals and needs. During this conversation, we discuss their academic and college aspirations and explain how Ascensor's personalized services can help them build a strong profile and achieve their objectives.
